End of a Voyage
My voyage was chartered on 9th August 1948,
by a ship commissioned by the God almighty.
The destinations were not scheduled
and the route map was not given.
Being a captain with no direction on hand,
I followed many on the way for some time.
I did a few twists and turns
and got desperate for want of focus.
Open the windows of your mind
and spot the directions, the elders said.
Time and again I opened my mind
only to see the rainbows at the horizon.
The rainbows with its fabulous beauty
was fascinating and mysterious.
With no guiding stars the voyage continued
through some good destinations.
There were no compulsions
to raise the engine beyond standards.
The routes of the voyage were safe
with no rocks nor icebergs on the way.
However, for fun and thrill,
the engine was raised recklessly at times,
to chase ships on the way
with varied competences.
The route on which this ship moved
was fancied by many who followed the way.
As the journey proceeded,
The number of followers increased.
Now the journey has become slow
and troublesome, needing repairs all over to proceed.
The leaks, blocks and precipitation at vital parts,
threatens to end the voyage.
The followers got puzzled over
and got frustrated behind.
A few of them took diversions
and others overtook to catch up the pace.
Repair and proceed with care for a little more
or decommission the ship are the options left.
The captain of the ship is all set to face it
and has completed the formalities.
He is ready to thank one and all,
excepting the one who stood shoulder to shoulder
even in stormy waters and got into him
like the sand in wood to make it a fossil.
