A heart breaking seen

When a heartless man has thrown the child into the garbage to save his food, the Vulture is kindly waiting for the child to die to have its food.

This is the best proof of the genetic theory. Like father...like son. Guess we do sometimes think alike.
This was my reaction to the same picture when i saw it for the first time.

"I received this email with this shocking picture. I was greatly moved by the intensity of this picture. I was moved by the compassion of the vulture, the kid's will to live and was also ashamed to be a part of the bigger crowd of humanity that is just watching this hombre spectacle impotently.

Even though the kid is absolutely defenseless, the vulture will not touch it as long as there is one once of life left in the kid. If a scavenger of the lowest order can show that compassion, what is wrong with us "the highest order of evolution", the one on top of the food chain.

It is images like this which we view from our sheltered comfort and luxury that makes us ponder about our fellow mates who are everyday struggling to survive the next hour. But can you and I make any difference. I hope, for the sake of this kid ,fighting a brave battle against his fate, that we can.

This famine was not caused by natural calamities. It was man made. There is no panacea for all the wrong that is happening in the world. I feel helpless and lost. But I am sure that together we could definitely find something we could do to change things around us. Atleast the hope is still alive.

I was touched by the picture so much that I wondered the emotions in the child. For a moment I was in the sweltering heat and dirt, tired, hungry and spent. I wondered if the child thought .......

I will live... atleast another day

I will eat... atleast another morsel

sorry birdie, you are wasting your time

for i will live atleast today.

My mother is waiting on the other side

But why is her body shattered and torn

Why are the vultures feasting on her

why isn't she coming to me

Mustn't look back

I must keep moving on

Can still hear my Mommy say

"Keep moving on

To the gates on the hem,

Vulture would follow

So never stay still

Keep moving forward

and never look back

You must live

Live another day.."

But why did we move out of our homes

Why did they burn down the fields

Why did they poison the wells and the ponds

Why did they kill my father and brothers

Birdie I know you will follow me

Wait till this last ounce of life leaves

But not today birdie I will make you wait

For I will live for atleast today.

I must survive atleast today

I have to eat atleast one morsel

I promised her ...

I promised her

but this seems a tough

promise to keep. "
